Every month Episcopal Senior Communities organizes and cooks a Free Senior Lunch for community members ages 55 and older. I attended for the very first time to document and share what goes on during this event. When I entered Cyprian’s ARC it was already filled with conversation, laughs, and delicious smelling food.
On the menu for the day was green salad, fruit, potato leek soup, fresh baked bread, and a cake for desert.
All the food was delicious and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. However, this senior lunch wasn’t just a lunch. During the event the attendees played trivia, joined in on a sing-along with live piano, had free health checks, and most importantly chatted with one another and had a good time. Below are some of the attendees who agreed to have their picture taken:
Next month’s Free Senior Lunch will be on April 23rd from 12:00 to 1:30 PM. For more information contact: Amy Brokering at abrokering@jtm-
After interning at Cyprian’s ARC for the last couple of months the one thing that never ceases to amaze me is how diverse the Turk & Lyon community is. Whether it’s age, ethnicity, or interests there’s a place at ARC for everyone.
